About the role#
Cartesian is looking for a software engineer to join the core R&D team. You will take ownership of specific projects, iterate on feedback, and help improve our spatial intelligence platform. This role requires working on-site in the Boston and Cambridge area.
What you'll do#
- Visit fashion retail stores to run experiments and collect high-quality datasets.
- Develop scripts to process and analyze large datasets.
- Optimize machine learning models and processing pipelines for cost and efficiency.
- Improve the accuracy of production model outputs.
- Update data collection tools to make them more automated, reliable, and easier to use.
What you'll need#
- Strong coding skills in Python.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks with minimal oversight.
- A drive to learn new skills and navigate unfamiliar technical territory quickly.
- Current enrollment in Computer Science or Computer Engineering programs.

- Location: On-site in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 4, 2027 to January 29, 2027).
- Compensation: This is a paid, full-time position.
