About the role#
This internship is a chance to contribute to core algorithms, work on a deployed product, and ship changes that reach enterprise customers. You will drive new research directions in spatial AI while working in a hands-on environment. This role sits at the intersection of machine learning, perception, estimation, and signal processing. Your work will have a direct impact on our enterprise product. Please note that this role does not involve academic publications due to the sensitive nature of our core models.
What you'll do#
- Explore research directions in sensor fusion and spatial AI that align with product needs.
- Develop and improve algorithms for indoor positioning and spatial perception.
- Run experiments on real-world customer deployments.
- Collect data, analyze failures, propose fixes, and validate improvements.
- Contribute to production machine learning and signal processing pipelines including modeling, evaluation, and deployment.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ship features to enterprise customers.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- A research track record of published work in top-tier machine learning, vision, or robotics venues.
- Strong foundations in at least one of the following: machine learning, perception, sensor fusion, or signal processing.
- Demonstrated research output through publications, open-source projects, or impactful applied work.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a small team.
- Curiosity, ownership, and a bias toward action and real-world impact.
- Experience in a startup or early-stage company is preferred.
- Experience shipping products is preferred.
- Experience or a strong interest in spatial AI, such as 3D vision, SLAM, mapping, sensor fusion, or geometric deep learning, is highly desirable.

- Location: On-site at our headquarters in Kendall Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
- Status: Full-time internship.
- Duration: 12 to 24 weeks.
- Timing: Summer 2026 with flexible start dates.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
