About the role#
Canyon AeroConnect is hiring a Test Engineering Intern to join the engineering team in Prescott, Arizona. This role focuses on performing technical work across software, electrical, and mechanical disciplines. You will work on projects that apply your engineering coursework to real-world aviation and communication systems. This is a part-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Participate in design reviews and document technical theory of operations.
- Create project plans and reports, including scientific charts and graphs.
- Perform basic circuit design, analysis, schematic capture, and PCB design.
- Use lab equipment like DMMs and oscilloscopes to troubleshoot hardware.
- Handle basic electronics assembly and soldering tasks.
- Select parts and develop bills of material.
- Write software code in C, compile programs, and run tests.
- Develop derived requirements and software test cases.
- Maintain compliance with company EHS policies and the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a freshman, sophomore, or junior in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in calculus and statistical methods.
- Strong technical writing skills and experience with MS Office.
- Ability to create scientific charts and graphs in MS Excel.
- Experience with basic test equipment.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A right first time attitude toward engineering tasks.
- Must meet Export Control compliance requirements as a US Person.
