    About the role#

This is a four-month, full-time internship for the Fall 2026 term. You will support the effort to streamline and standardize work processes within the company's Atlassian platform. The goal of this role is to analyze the existing Jira environment, which has become complex due to a high volume of custom workflows, and propose a consolidated model that reduces these to four standard workflow types.

    What you'll do#

    • Investigate and reverse-engineer existing Jira workflows, including statuses, transitions, conditions, and post-functions.
    • Create clear, accurate current-state process maps and documentation using Lucidchart.
    • Analyze the inventory of production workflows to identify commonalities, redundancies, and patterns.
    • Design a proposed future-state model that consolidates production workflows into four standard types.
    • Develop practical, prioritized recommendations for cleanup, including migration risks and considerations.
    • Present findings and visual process maps to the BSA Practice and IT Operations stakeholders.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a post-secondary program related to Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or Business Technology Management.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex systems.
    • Proven ability to work independently, manage your own time, and drive projects forward with minimal supervision.
    • Proficiency or a strong ability to quickly learn how to build process flows in Lucidchart.
    • Clear written and visual communication skills for documenting processes.
    • Exposure to Jira and Confluence as a user or administrator.
    • Familiarity with business analysis or process improvement concepts, such as BPMN or Lean thinking, is considered an asset.
