    About the role#

    The AI Enablement Student role is a four-month work term within the Engineering Practices team. This position focuses on the adoption of AI across engineering teams by contributing to technical documentation, standards consolidation, and AI enablement initiatives. You will work alongside engineering leaders and staff engineers to improve the consistency and discoverability of technical standards and playbooks.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist in standardizing and modernizing engineering documentation using AI-assisted approaches.
    • Apply coding skills to create AI-based documentation workflows, automation patterns, and developer guidance.
    • Support the consolidation of coding standards, engineering best practices, and architectural guidance into common playbooks.
    • Research and evaluate emerging AI tools that support software development, testing, and code reviews.
    • Help develop AI instruction sets, prompts, and guidance materials for use by engineering teams.
    • Participate in Community of Practice sessions and assist in driving the adoption of shared engineering standards and AI assets.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, System Design Engineering, AI/Machine Learning, or Data Science.
    • Basic programming experience in one or more languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
    • Experience using Git and GitHub for version control.
    • Basic understanding of prompt engineering and effective interaction with AI tools.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

    • Location: Toronto, ON, Canada.
    • Term: Fall 2026.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: $23.00 - $37.00 CAD hourly (typical hiring range $23.00 - $30.00 hourly).
