About the role#
The Cybersecurity Analyst Intern will support the protection of digital assets, infrastructure, and game-day technology operations. You will work with the Director of Information Technology and the IT staff to gain hands-on experience in monitoring, detecting, and responding to security threats. This role provides exposure to enterprise cybersecurity practices within a high-availability environment.
What you'll do#
- Monitor network traffic, security alerts, and logs using security platforms.
- Support incident response, including triage, investigation, and documentation.
- Identify, research, and prioritize vulnerabilities across systems and network infrastructure.
- Contribute to the maintenance of security policies and standards.
- Analyze potential threats and suspicious activity.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure system deployments.
- Assist with compliance activities and security reporting.
- Maintain strict confidentiality.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and coursework.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to remain focused and composed in time-sensitive situations.
- A team-oriented mindset and a willingness to take initiative.
- Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks like NIST, CIS Controls, or ISO 27001 is preferred.
- Familiarity with SIEM, endpoint protection, or vulnerability scanning tools is preferred.
- Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or Network+ are a plus.
Location & details#
- This role is located in Buffalo, New York.
- This is a part-time, paid position at $16.00 per hour for the 2026-2027 season.
- Work is on-site and requires the ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- You will operate in both office and stadium settings, which may include loud noises and crowds.
- Physical requirements include the ability to stand, sit, walk, reach, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 20 pounds.
