About the role#
This CPA Student position is for the Winter 2027 term. You will work within the accounting and finance functions to build a foundation in a large-scale operating platform. This role involves direct exposure to accounting operations, workflow automation, and collaboration with team leaders. We provide support for your CPA practical experience requirements.
What you'll do#
- Prepare financial statements and ensure compliance with regulatory and financing agreements.
- Coordinate and facilitate the execution of annual audits.
- Review global asset acquisitions, dispositions, and financings.
- Analyze consolidated financial results and key performance indicators for the renewable energy industry.
- Implement accounting policies for North American energy portfolios.
- Support tax compliance, reporting, planning, and transaction-related matters.
- Participate in the preparation of business forecasts and annual budgets.
What you'll need#
- You are working towards an undergraduate degree and the pre-requisites to enter the CPA Professional Education Program.
- You have an interest in pursuing a CPA designation in the Ottawa-Gatineau region.
- Demonstrated leadership and initiative.
- Excellent business acumen and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team, prioritize tasks, and multitask.
- A willingness to embrace Brookfield Renewable’s core values.
