About the role#
Brindley Engineering Corporation is hiring a Structural Engineer Intern to join our structural team. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Lisle, Illinois. You will work under licensed P.E.s and S.E.s, gaining exposure to industrial field environments and learning the fundamentals of structural analysis.
What you'll do#
- Support field evaluations of existing structures.
- Assist in developing calculations and analytical models for steel and concrete projects.
- Create basic engineering sketches for drafting.
- Help prepare technical reports.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Basic knowledge of design codes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Preference for candidates eligible to take the E.I.T. exam within one year.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred.
Location & details#
- Based in Lisle, IL with a hybrid work schedule.
- Field assignments require physical mobility on the ground and at heights.
- You must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
- You may need to climb ladders, use stairways, and work from platforms or scaffolding.
- You must be comfortable working in all weather conditions and confined spaces.
- You must be able to adhere to client-specific safety requirements, including random drug testing programs and facial hair safety policies.
