About the role#
BrightStar Care is looking for an HR Intern to join our team in Onalaska. This is a paid, part-time position requiring 20 to 24 hours of in-office work per week. We offer flexible scheduling to accommodate your classes or other commitments. This role is expected to run through May 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support the recruitment of caregivers, CNAs, and nurses.
- Manage job postings, screen incoming applications, and schedule interviews.
- Maintain clear communication with candidates throughout the hiring process.
- Handle onboarding paperwork, organize employee files, and track credentials.
- Assist with new-hire orientations and confirm all hiring requirements are met.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR department.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation (within the last year) from a degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Comfort with computer systems and the ability to learn new software.
- Professionalism when handling confidential employee information.
- Previous work experience is preferred.

- Location: Onalaska, Wisconsin.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $16 per hour.
- Schedule: 20-24 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
