About the role#
Brady is seeking a law student intern for the Winter 2027 term. This position supports our legal team in impact-driven civil lawsuits and constitutional advocacy. You will gain hands-on litigation experience and work directly with subject matter experts to help create gun violence prevention precedent.
What you'll do#
- Conduct factual and legal research to support active litigation.
- Draft in-depth legal memoranda, briefs, and reports.
- Assist with all phases of litigation, including discovery, trial preparation, and depositions.
- Review and index discovery materials.
- Track and analyze constitutional law issues, including the Second Amendment.
- Participate in strategy sessions and case tracking.
- Conduct research for amicus briefs and support racial justice initiatives.
- Develop new cases and monitor developments in gun violence litigation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a 2L or 3L law student.
- Strong writing skills with attention to grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Ability to work well under pressure and contribute as a key team member.
- Dependability, self-motivation, and accountability.
- A strong interest in gun violence prevention, impact litigation, and racial justice.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position based in Washington, DC.
- There is a strong preference for interns who can work in the office on Tuesdays.
- This is an unpaid internship for course credit only. We will work with your institution to fulfill any requirements.
