About the role#
Legal interns at Brady support our impact litigation efforts on behalf of victims, survivors, and communities affected by gun violence. You will work alongside staff attorneys to develop cases, prepare for trial, and monitor developments in gun violence litigation. This internship provides hands-on experience in legal advocacy, research, and strategy.
What you'll do#
- Conduct factual and legal research to support active litigation.
- Draft legal memoranda, briefs, and reports on assigned topics.
- Review and index materials obtained during discovery.
- Track cases and legal decisions.
- Assist with trial and deposition preparation.
- Participate in strategy sessions.
- Research amicus briefs and track constitutional law issues, including the Second Amendment.
- Help with racial justice research and developing new cases.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a 2L or 3L law student.
- A strong interest in gun violence prevention, impact litigation, and racial justice.
- Excellent writing skills with attention to grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- A self-motivated and dependable approach to your work.
- The ability to contribute effectively within a team.
Location & details#
- This internship is located in Washington, DC.
- The role is on-site, with a strong preference for interns to be in the office on Tuesdays.
- This is a Summer 2027 term.
- This position is unpaid and for course credit only.
