About the role#
This internship supports the Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) Response to Intervention (RTI) framework. You will provide reading intervention and remediation for elementary school students. This role addresses the needs of students who require extra support to meet district benchmarks and state requirements. The position involves working with the Education Director, club site staff, school principals, and community advocates.
What you'll do#
- Support the RTI framework for reading intervention at the elementary level.
- Collaborate with school staff to solve problems.
- Perform other assigned duties as needed.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward a Bachelor degree in special education, education, school counseling, or school psychology.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Flexibility and adaptability when working with students.
- Professionalism and a willingness to seek feedback for improvement.
- Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
