About the role#
Borash Veterinary Clinic offers an externship program for veterinary students to gain practical experience in a small animal practice. This program supports your transition from the classroom to clinical practice. You will work alongside our veterinary team under the supervision of a mentor doctor to meet your specific educational goals. We provide a stipend of $250 per week for participants.
What you'll do#
- Gather patient histories and perform physical examinations.
- Develop diagnostic and therapeutic plans for medical cases.
- Scrub in to surgery and assist in patient management.
- Provide wellness care to patients.
- Develop client communication skills and technical abilities.
- Produce accurate medical records including SOAPs.
- Participate in all aspects of patient care during your rotation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited DVM program.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Proof of professional liability insurance.
- Ability to maintain professional conduct and follow practice standards.
