About the role#
This Student Nurse Apprentice Program (SNAP) offers paid clinical hours for nursing students graduating in May 2027. Participants gain hands-on experience in Med-Surg or PCU units, including Cardiology, Medical Specialties, Oncology/Neurology, Orthopedics, and Surgical Specialties. This program requires a two-year commitment to work in the selected department as a Registered Nurse following graduation.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct patient care to support licensed professional nurses and ensure a safe environment.
- Collect vital patient information and report changes in condition to the RN.
- Assist with activities of daily living, vital signs, intake and output monitoring, and fall or pressure ulcer prevention.
- Perform phlebotomy, foley care, and point of care testing as requested.
- Document all patient care activities and assist with patient and family education.
- Participate in safety, quality, and regulatory compliance activities, including serving as a patient safety sitter when necessary.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in the final year of an accredited RN or BSN program.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- No prior experience is required.
- No specific licenses or certifications are required.
