About the role#
Bohler is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for our Atlanta office for the Summer 2027 term. This role focuses on land development and site design. You will work alongside engineers, designers, and project managers to support the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use projects. This is a full-time, on-site, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Experience the daily operations of a civil engineering and site design firm.
- Learn the various stages of the land development and site design process.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design concept, grading, stormwater management, utility system, and soil erosion and sediment control plans.
- Collaborate with the project team to coordinate and drive projects forward.
- Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
- Visit project sites to observe field conditions and see the engineering process in action.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to design and process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, or Biosystems Engineering, or a related field.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred, though training is provided if you are not yet proficient.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Curiosity and motivation to learn.
- An interest in civil site design, land development, and problem-solving.
