About the role#
Bohler is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. This role provides insight into the daily operations of a civil engineering firm and the complete site development process, from concept to construction. You will work alongside engineers, designers, and project managers to support the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use developments.
What you'll do#
- Experience the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm.
- Learn the stages of the land development and site design process.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design concept, grading, stormwater management, utility system, and soil erosion and sediment control plans.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to coordinate and drive projects forward.
- Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
- Visit sites to observe field conditions.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to design improvements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred, though training is provided.
- Curiosity and motivation to learn.
