About the role#
This position involves supervising elementary age children in the late stay program. You will build connections with students, lead activities, and maintain a safe environment. This role requires flexibility and the ability to handle various responsibilities throughout the afternoon.
What you'll do#
- Supervise elementary age children and learn their names.
- Lead group activities, including indoor and outdoor games.
- Give devotionals and speak truth to students.
- Enforce behavioral expectations.
- Manage restroom breaks for different grades.
- Verify parent car tags and call for students over the radio.
- Monitor the car line and check on waiting vehicles.
- Maintain accurate records of student check-in and check-out times using the timekeeping system.
- Think clearly and respond graciously when under pressure.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Bob Jones University.
- Minimum age of 18 and a high school diploma.
- A Christ-like testimony and integrity.
- A genuine love for students and a desire to learn.
- Ability to stand, walk, and be outside for long periods.
- Physical endurance for a rambunctious environment.
- Awareness of the differences between the BJU academic calendar and BJA work responsibilities.
- Previous experience with children ages 6-12 is helpful.
- Experience in a detail-oriented, high-pressure environment, such as food service, is preferred for desk or carline duties.
