About the role#
The Maintenance Shop Intern supports daily shop operations by assisting technicians and the Shop Supervisor. You will gain hands-on exposure to mechanical systems, troubleshooting, and industrial maintenance processes while developing practical skills in a professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist maintenance technicians with basic repairs, inspections, and diagnostics on equipment, tools, and vehicles.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks under supervision, including lubrication, filter changes, cleaning, and adjustments.
- Manage parts and documentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized shop environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a technical, mechanical, industrial maintenance, or related program.
- Completion of the first year of college and moving into the second year of your program.
- Working knowledge of shop machines and tools.
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems.
- Ability to operate forklifts.

- This position is located in Avon, Minnesota.
- This is a full-time, on-site role.
- The internship is paid at a rate of $18.00 to $22.50 per hour based on experience.
