About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for students enrolled in the John Deere TECH program. You will work toward a two-year associate degree while gaining hands-on experience at our dealership. The goal is to build the technical foundation needed to become a service technician.
What you'll do#
- Complete two years of instructor-led classroom and lab training at a John Deere Tech School.
- Finish at least two internships at the dealership.
- Obtain certifications in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service Advisor training.
- Assist senior technicians with repairs and maintenance.
- Perform basic service tasks and handle pre-delivery inspections on new equipment.
- Maintain a clean workspace and document your time and materials used on jobs.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver license.
- Fundamental knowledge of engines, hydraulics, power-trains, air-conditioning, and electrical systems.
- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs repeatedly.
- An interest in learning the tools and techniques used to repair agricultural equipment.
- A fork lift license is preferred.
