About the role#
As a Quality Process Intern, you will support the execution of our corrective and preventive action (CAPA) system. You will work with cross-functional teams to identify improvements that increase speed to market while maintaining quality standards. This role involves supporting the Quality Management System, conducting audits, and assisting with employee development. We look for interns to commit to a multi-semester schedule, such as summer and fall 2026, fall 2026 and spring 2027, or spring and summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Follow all safety procedures and nurture a food safety culture by adhering to Safe Quality Foods requirements.
- Support customer complaints and internal quality events by gathering data and isolating suspect material.
- Operate test equipment to identify root causes for CAPAs.
- Assist with product returns, including documenting quantities, determining material disposition, and sorting items.
- Help execute corrective and preventive action plans and file relevant correspondence and job jackets.
- Analyze data and collaborate with plant leadership to develop action plans.
- Assist with process improvements and the implementation of technology changes for preventive action.
- Help document and implement standard operating procedures and internal test methods.
- Develop professional skills and learn fundamental problem-solving techniques.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited university pursuing a bachelor or associate degree.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Engineering Technology, Packaging, and Graphics Communications Management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
- Professional and friendly communication skills.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, decimals, and fractions.
- Ability to operate a computer and various testing or office equipment.
- Capacity to read, comprehend, and follow written and oral directions.
- Regular attendance is required.
Location & details#
- This position is located on-site in De Pere, Wisconsin.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- Physical requirements include the ability to sit for 50% of the time, stand and walk for 25% each, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- You may be exposed to chemical odors, moving mechanical parts, and noise in the work environment.
- A pre-employment drug test is required.
