About the role#
This R&D Engineering internship provides an opportunity to contribute to medical technology projects while developing core engineering skills. You will work within a team-oriented environment, supporting the development and testing of components, materials, and systems. This is a part-time, on-site position based in Salt Lake City.
What you'll do#
- Initiate and track new or revised documentation through approval cycles.
- Provide technical support for components, material methods, and equipment.
- Assist in developing physical and functional test requirements.
- Write and review protocols, reports, and data.
- Conduct testing according to established protocols and methods.
- Execute validation studies on equipment and processes.
- Analyze design inputs and execute design controls.
- Participate in cross-functional teams and maintain professional relationships with internal and external customers.
- Prepare and present oral and written project updates.
- Train on and follow company procedures and regulatory requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in science or engineering.
- Ability to apply engineering principles and read technical drawings.
- Basic technical writing and interpersonal skills, including active listening.
- Familiarity with basic descriptive statistics and software applications.
- Ability to perform testing per written directions and work independently.
- Problem-solving skills, including the ability to collect data, analyze results, and make recommendations.
- Ability to lift up to twenty-five pounds and perform tasks that require standing, bending, or reaching.
