About the role#
Batchelor & Kimball, Inc. is hiring a Mechanical Intern for our Austin office. This is a full-time, on-site role for students currently enrolled in an engineering degree program. You will work alongside senior engineering staff to support our mechanical contracting projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with preconstruction tasks like takeoffs, estimate reviews, and job-site walk-thrus.
- Support engineering design and field observation activities.
- Produce documents using AutoCAD or Revit.
- Process submittals and RFIs.
- Track action items and meeting notes.
- Help manage vendors and subcontractors.
- Visit job sites to interface with foremen and inspect for schedule, quality, and safety.
- Compile closeout documents and deliver a final presentation at the end of your assignment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an engineering degree program at an accredited US college or university.
- Interest in the MEP field.
- Intermediate experience with Access and Excel.
- Strong statistical analysis, research, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
- Creativity and a focus on results.
