About the role#
As a Precision Technology Summer Associate, you will support our Agricultural Solutions team in Saskatoon. This role focuses on field trials and breeding programs designed to develop high-performing hybrids. You will work on-site for a four-month term during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Conduct precision technology activities for field trials and prepare fields for aerial surveys.
- Create survey plans, schedule data collection, and process image data.
- Plan and conduct surveys using remotely piloted aircraft to gather crop data.
- Perform data analytics and model development using R or Python.
- Manage field tasks including seed setup, land preparation, seeding, crop health checks, pest control, pollination, and harvesting.
- Supervise casual employees when necessary.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
What you'll need#
- A degree or diploma in Agriculture, Biology, Computer Science, or Engineering, obtained within the last two years.
- A solid understanding of plant breeding, agronomy, and precision agriculture.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations.
- A focus on delivering results for individual and team goals.
- A basic operations drone pilot certificate is an asset, though we can guide you in obtaining one.
- Working knowledge of R or Python is an asset.
- Previous experience with farms, machinery, or drones is an asset.

- Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
- Term: Summer 2027 (4 months).
- Pay: $25 to $32 per hour.
