About the role#
We are hiring a Canola Seed Production Research Summer Associate to join our Agriculture Solutions team. This is a 4-month contract position for the summer of 2027 based in Lethbridge, Alberta. Please note that students are hired and employed through a third-party contracting agency, Raise Recruiting.
What you'll do#
- Support plot and field scale trials for the Certified Seed Supply team.
- Participate in programs that evaluate innovative seed canola production methods.
- Work to improve and optimize production systems that influence seed quality and yield.
- Manage field activities and data collection across multiple sites in Southern Alberta.
- Execute agronomic practices including planting, spraying, crop synchronization, mowing, harvesting, and sample processing.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Agriculture or a similar program.
- Agronomic knowledge and experience in the agriculture or farming industry.
- Above-average communication skills and the ability to work well in team settings.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and comfort working alone when required.
- Ability to be flexible and modify plans as situations arise.
- A valid class 5 Driver's license.
- Experience with farm equipment is highly desired.

- Location: Lethbridge, Alberta.
- Term: Summer 2027 (4 months).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $25 to $32 per hour, with overtime pay for evenings or weekends during peak periods.
