About the role#
This is a four-month summer position based in Lethbridge, Alberta. You will work with the Agriculture Solutions team to support Certified Seed Supply trials. The role is full-time and on-site, with overtime pay provided for evening or weekend work during peak periods.
What you'll do#
- Support plot and field scale trials for the Certified Seed Supply team.
- Participate in programs that evaluate new seed canola production methods.
- Help optimize production systems to improve seed quality and yield.
- Manage and collect data from various field sites throughout Southern Alberta.
- Execute core agronomic practices including planting, spraying, crop synchronization, mowing, harvesting, and processing samples.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Agriculture degree or a related program.
- Previous experience in the agriculture or farming industry.
- A valid class 5 Driver's license.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently when needed.
- Flexibility to modify plans as field conditions change.
- Experience with farm equipment is highly desired.
