Facilities Management Intern

About the role#

Banterra Bank is seeking a Facilities Management Intern to support the maintenance and management of a multi-location bank portfolio. This role provides hands-on experience in facilities operations, including data analysis, project coordination, and branch assessments. The position involves frequent interaction with various departments and travel to multiple branch locations throughout Southern Illinois.

What you'll do#

• Shadow and gain an understanding of facilities operations and management.
• Organize records, track requests, and maintain facility-related data using Microsoft Excel.
• Assist in coordinating facilities-related projects across branch and office locations.
• Conduct structured assessments of branch locations to build a centralized facilities database.
• Prepare summaries, reports, and presentations to share findings and recommendations with senior leadership.
• Contribute to special projects, including research, meeting participation, and project tracking.
• Assist with on-site tasks, which may include light physical work such as moving items or assembling furniture.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a degree program related to Business Administration, Architecture, Civil, Environmental, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering, or Operations Management.
• Minimum Junior-level collegiate standing or beyond.
• Basic knowledge in your area of study and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation with insurance, and the ability to travel to various locations.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds and work in various environments, including construction or build sites.

• Location: Marion, Illinois.
• Modality: On-site.
• Status: Part-time, approximately 30 hours per week.
• Compensation: Paid internship.
