Community Banking Intern

About the role#

This 12-week paid internship provides an introduction to the fundamentals of retail banking. Working under a mentorship framework, you will gain hands-on experience by supporting day-to-day operations and contributing to ad-hoc projects. You will interact with various departments, including Retail Banking, Commercial Lending, Lending Operations, Electronic Banking, and Home Office Operations. This is a part-time position with flexible hours designed to accommodate your class schedule.

What you'll do#

• Work with Banking Center Managers and team members to learn about teller line transactions, daily balancing, and customer outreach.
• Shadow professionals in Commercial Lending, Lending Operations, Electronic Banking, and Support Operations to understand Banterra products and services.
• Conduct research on business and industry trends.
• Participate in joint customer sales calling efforts.
• Engage in SIU activities.
• Travel to different business lines of the bank for exposure to varied operations.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee and customer data.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a college program pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Marketing.
• Completion of at least two years of college.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a customer service orientation.
• Ability to problem-solve, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous experience in a professional office environment is preferred.
