About the role#
The Bank Iowa Rotational Internship introduces you to the banking industry through rotations in Ag and Commercial Relationship Management, Retail Banking, and Mortgage Lending. You will gain experience across core functions, shadow corporate team members, and explore banking as a potential career path. This role is designed for students who want to develop business acumen through hands-on training and projects.
What you'll do#
- Attend the teller training program to learn core systems, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Perform teller transactions, including receiving deposits, cashing checks, and processing withdrawals.
- Count currency, coins, and checks, and balance your cash drawer at the end of each shift.
- Rotate with Personal Bankers to understand banking products and client service.
- Work with Loan Assistants and Relationship Managers to learn loan origination, credit analysis, and business development.
- Participate in business development meetings, client calls, and loan committee meetings.
- Prepare loan documents and assist with data input, word processing, reporting, and filing.
- Interact with senior leadership and complete assigned projects.
- Answer client questions and provide account information.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university as a sophomore, junior, or senior.
- Demonstrated leadership skills through school or community activities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Prior cash handling or client experience is preferred.
- Majors in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
