About the role#
This 10-week paid internship provides broad exposure to the finance and accounting functions that support global operations at AXA XL. You will participate in rotational assignments across multiple teams, including Financial Reporting, Capital Management, Investment Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, Financial Systems, Accounting Policy, and Consolidation & Close processes. The program includes hands-on experience, networking with finance leaders, and a final cross-functional project presented to senior leadership.
What you'll do#
- Gain exposure to various finance and accounting disciplines.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects that provide business value.
- Develop an understanding of financial accounting, reporting, capital management, and operational processes.
- Build relationships with leaders, finance professionals, and technical specialists.
- Participate in discussions regarding process optimization, reporting enhancements, and data-driven decision-making.
- Assist in the collection, integration, validation, and analysis of financial and operational data.
- Support the preparation of reports, dashboards, and management information.
- Help implement and maintain data governance, privacy, and control procedures.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports and management reporting packages.
- Support initiatives focused on data automation and process efficiencies.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Access, with Power BI experience as a plus.
- A track record of identifying and analyzing problems to deploy sound decisions.
- Ability to prioritize high-value tasks, multitask, and navigate ambiguity.
- Strong communication skills and a curious mindset.
- A commitment to accountability and openness to feedback.
- Authorization to work legally in the United States.
- A drive to succeed and interest in the insurance industry.
- Ability to act with a sense of ownership and initiative.
