About the role#
This is a part-time, paid internship for students planning to enter an accredited College of Pharmacy program in Fall 2027 or Fall 2028. You will work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist to assist with drug preparation, storage, and patient education. This position requires a rotating schedule that includes days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
What you'll do#
- Input and prepare labels and packages for inpatient or outpatient medication orders.
- Obtain patient medication histories and provide education to improve medication adherence.
- Perform clerical tasks such as billing and pharmacy inventory management.
- Collect and maintain pharmacy records to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
- Communicate with nursing staff, physicians, customers, and team members.
- Participate in interdepartmental work groups and committees.
- Demonstrate knowledge of medications, calculations, and safety regulations.
What you'll need#
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to obtain a Pharmacy Tech in Training or Pharmacy Intern license within 30 days of hire.
- Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties.
- Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.
- Strong communication skills.
- Preference is given to candidates with a Bachelor's or Master's degree or those pre-admitted to an accredited College of Pharmacy.
