About the role#
As a Production Engineering Intern, you will work alongside engineering teams to support the design, development, testing, and launch of products. You will gain hands-on experience across the product lifecycle, from initial concepts and prototypes to integration and verification. This is a full-time, 12-week summer program based on-site in Simi Valley, California.
What you'll do#
- Assist in improving product development processes and apply standard company policies.
- Support cross-discipline teams through meetings, documentation, and progress tracking.
- Participate in subsystem design, characterization, and performance evaluations.
- Assist in prototype builds and coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and third-party service providers.
- Track and manage engineering tasks, schedules, and issues using project management tools.
- Participate in design and technical review meetings.
- Support data collection, test result analysis, and documentation development.
- Learn and implement tools and templates that promote project engineering excellence.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Strong academic foundation in engineering fundamentals, physics, and mathematics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data or project management tools.
- Excellent communication, organization, and team collaboration skills.
- Eagerness to learn and take initiative in a technical environment.
- Basic understanding of design principles, testing methods, and project coordination.
- Must qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR and EAR regulations.
- Preferred: Exposure to systems engineering, configuration management, CAD tools, simulation software, or Lean/Six Sigma principles.
