The Metallic Internship Coordinator will manage the operational and logistical aspects of the METALLIC internship program. This role focuses on supporting the next generation of the STEM workforce by designing work-based learning experiences and coordinating activities for undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students. This is a full-time, hybrid position.
What you'll do#
- Design and deliver work-based learning programs for students.
- Coordinate program logistics, including onboarding, orientation, and cohort activities.
- Support recruitment efforts to attract students from regional and national academic institutions.
- Serve as a resource for students to help them navigate their learning experiences and connect with mentors.
- Maintain relationships with partner laboratories and universities by coordinating cross-lab collaborations and industry engagement.
- Track program metrics, including participant counts and deliverables, and prepare quarterly and annual reports.
- Assist in creating student experiences that include skill development across national labs, industry, and higher education institutions.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (such as Biology, Physics, or Chemical Engineering) or a related field like Communications.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in program coordination, educational support, or a related role within a research or academic environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Experience with participant recruitment, outreach, or student services.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, cloud-based collaborative tools, and online application systems.
- Ability to participate in occasional evening and weekend programming.

- Location: Lemont, Illinois.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (requires on-site presence a minimum of 2-3 days per week).
