About the role#
The Partnerships & Organizing Team works to help people directly impacted by systems of oppression become civically engaged. As an intern or practicum student, you will support this mission through political education and community organizing. This role requires an assertive and proactive approach to advocacy.
What you'll do#
- Conduct one-on-one interviews with impacted people.
- Coordinate meetings between community members and elected officials.
- Facilitate political education training and community outreach events.
- Plan and facilitate group meetings, townhalls, and member kickbacks.
- Engage in phone and text banking.
- Attend and take notes at Board of Aldermen and Board of E&A meetings.
- Prepare community members for testifying at committee meetings.
- Participate in community canvassing efforts.
- Assist staff with social work services and attend strategy meetings.

Location & details#
- This is a paid, part-time position based in St. Louis, Missouri.
- The role is on-site, though requirements may change based on public health or policy needs.
- The term is for Winter 2027, lasting 8 to 12 weeks.
- Be aware that this role may require work during nights or weekends.
