About the role#
ArchCity Defenders is looking for interns to join the communications team. You will function as part of an interdisciplinary team, working alongside attorneys and staff to support the organizational mission. This role involves producing content, conducting research, and developing media ideas to advance our advocacy work.
What you'll do#
- Present new communications and media ideas.
- Create written content, take pictures, and produce videos for our website, social media, and blog.
- Produce content for print publications, events, and marketing materials.
- Track earned news media clips across radio, online, print, and television.
- Conduct research on social, legal, racial, and economic policy issues.
- Attend communications update meetings.
- Support staff through various communications services and assigned duties.
What you'll need#
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn new systems.
- Experience or interest in creating accessible content for social media.
- Experience editing and drafting website content.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a detail-oriented approach to team-based work.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, and manage time effectively.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing organizational needs.
- A commitment to racial and economic justice and systems change.
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity toward diverse populations, including an understanding of power, privilege, and oppression.

- Location: St. Louis, Missouri.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Modality: This is an on-site, part-time, paid internship.
- Note: Interns must be able to commit to 8-12 weeks of work. We cannot accept interns who are simultaneously engaged in another internship.
