About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience within the insurance industry. You will work alongside the MidCorp Middle Market Solutions underwriting team to gain professional skills and explore career paths. This is a paid, full-time position for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Observe and assist with risk assessments, pricing evaluations, and relationship management.
- Support the team in underwriting and evaluating Natural Catastrophe Accumulation.
- Demonstrate an understanding of catastrophe modeling and scenario interpretation.
- Learn to underwrite in line with the Line of Business governance framework.
- Leverage risk selection and pricing tools.
- Assist with policy documentation, administration, and credit control processes.
What you'll need#
- Current Junior or Senior student status with an expected graduation between December 2027 and May 2028.
- Pursuing a degree in Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, Business, Accounting, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- An entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to learn continuously.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Interest in attending networking and client-facing events.

- Location: Alpharetta, GA.
- Modality: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote).
- Term: June 2, 2027 to August 6, 2027.
- Compensation: $24 per hour.
- Note: Relocation and housing assistance are not provided.
