About the role#
This 10-week summer internship provides students with hands-on experience in the insurance industry. You will receive instruction and work assignments similar to an entry-level actuarial hire. The program includes learning activities, regular feedback, and opportunities to work alongside experienced professionals in the field.
What you'll do#
- Take on a large project and present your findings to the department at the end of the summer.
- Work with an onsite mentor from a different actuarial team to gain broader exposure to the business.
- Develop professional skills while exploring potential career paths.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science, Insurance and Risk Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Analysis, or a related field.
- You have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- You are a Bachelor's or Graduate student with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029.
- You are a team player who can also work independently on multiple tasks.
- Experience with Python or SQL is preferred.
- Having attempted one or more actuarial exams is preferred, though not required.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship running from June 2, 2027, to August 6, 2027.
- The role is hybrid, requiring 3 days of onsite work per week.
- Available locations include Jersey City, NJ; New York, NY; St. Paul, MN; Chicago, IL; and Hartford, CT.
- Relocation and housing assistance are not provided.
