About the role#
As an Engineering Intern, you will support the development, implementation, and certification of safety-critical software products for Aerospace, Industrial, and Automotive customers. You will work alongside software engineers, architects, and product management teams to build and certify VxWorks and HVP features on platforms such as ARM and IA. This role offers hands-on experience with real project deliverables while you learn from experienced mentors.
What you'll do#
- Support the development of software modules for VxWorks and HVP products.
- Contribute to feature implementation, certification activities, and defect resolution.
- Collaborate with product management and system architects to implement product requirements.
- Participate in the development and certification of software on ARM and IA platforms.
- Identify opportunities to improve features and engineering processes.
- Contribute ideas for product enhancements and future iterations.
- Work effectively with global software engineering teams.
- Learn from experienced engineers and work closely with an assigned mentor.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred status as a third or fourth year student.
- Completed coursework in Operating Systems.
- Strong understanding of RTOS and embedded systems fundamentals.
- Familiarity with building and developing software modules.
- Exposure to driver or board-level software development and integration is an asset.
- Proficiency in C/C++.
- Excellent analytical and debugging skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet eligibility requirements for covered network and security-sensitive projects.
