About the role#
This is a part-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site in Colorado Springs to help maintain the security and integrity of our data systems. This role provides hands-on experience in protecting information systems and network infrastructure.
What you'll do#
- Perform security assessments and vulnerability scans on network infrastructure and information systems.
- Analyze security logs and data to detect and respond to threats.
- Lead the creation and implementation of security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Manage incident response and recovery efforts, including root cause analysis.
- Recommend hardware and software adjustments, including vendor selections.
- Work with cross-functional teams to improve security measures.
- Provide technical support and guidance to employees regarding security.
- Design and run cybersecurity awareness training for the organization.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
- Ability to conduct vulnerability scans and security assessments.
- Knowledge of network infrastructure and information systems.
- Familiarity with log analysis and security data.
- Understanding of incident response and root cause analysis.
- Commitment to tracking emerging security threats and trends.
- Ability to develop security policies and training initiatives.
