The Anthropic Fellows Program in Reinforcement Learning is a 4-month, full-time research initiative designed to foster technical talent in AI development. Fellows receive mentorship from Anthropic researchers and engage in empirical projects aligned with the company's research priorities. The program operates on a rolling basis, providing an opportunity to contribute to AI research while working within a collaborative community.
What you'll do#
- Conduct full-time research for a 4-month duration.
- Participate in a project selection and mentor matching process.
- Build model-based tools to analyze AI training data and improve data quality.
- Create and implement reinforcement learning (RL) environments to improve AI models.
- Conduct research and implement solutions in areas such as RL algorithms.
What you'll need#
- A strong technical background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical).
- Fluency in Python programming.
- Experience building complex machine learning systems.
- A strong motivation to ensure AI is safe and beneficial for society.
- An interest in transitioning into empirical AI research.
Location & details#
- Work Modality: This role is available on-site (San Francisco, CA) or remotely.
- Eligibility: Candidates must possess independent work authorization for the United States or Canada. Visa sponsorship is not provided for this program.
- Compensation: This is a paid fellowship.
