About the role#
McLarty Associates is seeking a fellow to support the Middle East and North Africa practice in Washington, DC. This role also provides support to the McLarty Media practice. This is a paid, part-time position requiring up to 20 hours per week during the Fall semester. The role is based on-site at our DC office.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research on public policy, international affairs, and business issues.
- Write memos, compile biographies, and prepare presentations.
- Monitor regional news outlets.
- Attend and report on speeches, panel discussions, and policy forums.
- Provide general office and administrative support to professional staff.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency in Arabic, including reading, writing, and speaking.
- Demonstrated experience living or studying in the Gulf region.
- Understanding of Middle East and North Africa trends, politics, and economics.
- Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Office 365, and other business applications.
- Strong research, writing, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and maintain confidentiality.
- Current authorization to work in the United States.
Location & details#
- Location: Washington, DC.
- Compensation: $18.40 per hour.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Term: Rolling basis, with an expected start in early September.
- This position is not benefits eligible.
