About the role#
As a Systems Engineer Co-op, you will gain hands-on experience in how technical strategy is developed and executed across hardware and software programs. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to support the delivery of solutions from pre-award demonstrations through full execution. This role involves exposure to program lifecycles including proposals, design reviews, qualification testing, and final delivery.
What you'll do#
- Own one or more scoped projects end to end with mentor support.
- Perform a system-level trade study that balances risk, cost, and performance.
- Decompose complex system requirements into executable sub-requirements.
- Prepare technical materials for design reviews such as SRR, PDR, or CDR.
- Support the development of qualification or acceptance test requirements and pass/fail criteria.
- Collaborate with engineers across two or more disciplines to support the integration of a defined subsystem.
- Develop technical briefings or status updates to communicate program progress to internal stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related technical field.
- Must be returning to school at the end of the co-op to continue academic studies for at least one quarter or semester.
- Ability to complete an in-person, 16-24 week co-op in 2027.
- Must be a U.S. Person due to access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
- U.S. clearance eligibility may be required depending on the program.
- Strong technical fundamentals in at least one core engineering discipline.
- Experience through collegiate project teams, laboratories, or prior internships involving hardware or software systems.
- Coursework or project exposure to qualification and acceptance testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with U.S. government contract structures or programs.
- Coursework or project exposure to complex systems development and performance tradeoffs.
- Strong technical communication skills.
