About the role#
Anduril Industries is hiring a Propulsion Engineer Co-op for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Costa Mesa, California. You will join a team focused on the selection and integration of aircraft engines, fuel systems, and powertrain components for unmanned air vehicles.
What you'll do#
- Design, build, and test prototype components and control systems.
- Plan and execute tests for aircraft propulsion systems, including instrumentation and data processing.
- Coordinate with engine vendors and manage development projects.
- Support hardware demonstrations with customers.
- Assist with CAD design for internal aerodynamic loft, surfaces, and structures.
- Travel to test sites as required.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Must return to school after the internship to continue studies for at least one term.
- Ability to complete an in-person 16 to 24-week internship.
- Must be a U.S. Person to access export-controlled information; U.S. clearance eligibility may be required.
- Knowledge of jet and piston engine fundamentals and engine cycle decks.
- Experience designing mechanical parts and surface loft using NX or similar CAD software.
- Familiarity with manufacturing methods such as machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, and injection molding.
- Hands-on experience with engine testing, instrumentation, and Engine Management Systems.
- Experience procuring parts and working in a machine shop, including knowledge of shop safety protocols.

- Compensation: $34 to $50 per hour.
