About the role#
This is a 16-24 week co-op position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site in Quincy, Massachusetts. We are looking for students who will return to their academic studies immediately following the internship. You must be a U.S. Person to be eligible for this role.
What you'll do#
- Design and build prototypes.
- Analyze failures and transition successful projects into production.
- Present design reviews and run technical analysis.
- Design and execute hardware test plans.
- Use first principles physics to guide every decision.
- Visit vendors and travel to test sites as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software and the ability to create high-quality engineering drawings that meet industry standards.
- Hands-on fabrication skills, including experience with machining, sheet metal, injection molding, and 3D printing.
- Experience with FEA or CFD analysis tools.
- Ability to integrate electrical components like motors, controllers, and sensors into mechanical designs.
- Prior experience through internships, collegiate project teams, or laboratory work.
- Familiarity with NX, Teamcenter, or Solidworks.
