About the role#
Anduril Industries is seeking Mechanical Engineer Interns for the Summer 2027 term. This is a 12-week, full-time, paid, on-site internship. Interns will work on defense technology systems, applying engineering first principles to design, build, and test hardware. Please note that U.S. Person status is required for this role due to the need to access export-controlled data.
What you'll do#
- Design and build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production.
- Present design reviews and run engineering analysis.
- Visit vendors and design and execute hardware test plans.
- Travel to test sites and vendor locations as needed.
- Use first principles physics as a basis for all design and engineering decisions.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
- Must be a rising senior at the time of the internship and returning to school at the end of the term to continue academic studies.
- Demonstrated hands-on fabrication skills and collegiate project team or laboratory experience.
- Proficiency in CAD software and the ability to create high-quality engineering drawings that meet industry standards.
- Preferred experience includes work with NX, Teamcenter, or Solidworks, as well as FEA or CFD analysis tools.
- Preferred experience with machining, sheet metal, injection molding, 3D printing, and the integration of electrical components such as motors, controllers, and sensors.
