About the role#
We are hiring one Electrical Engineering Intern or Co-op for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based in Racine County, Wisconsin. You will work primarily on-site, though some remote work may be possible. You will support the Electrical Engineering team by conducting product tests and implementing design changes under the guidance of engineers and designers.
What you'll do#
- Uphold Andis Core Values.
- Test products for voltage, current, and temperature.
- Evaluate motors for speed, torque, power, and efficiency.
- Conduct testing for Lithium-Ion batteries and PCB functionality.
- Test components including FETs, BJTs, microcontrollers, and charge controllers.
- Program microcontrollers using C and explore electronics innovation with development boards.
- Investigate field failures to determine the root cause at the component level.
- Perform competitor product teardowns and investigations.
- Write test reports detailing your results.
- Process Engineering Change Requests and write Engineering Change Notices.
- Draft 2D drawings using Electrical CAD and AutoCAD.
- Manage bill of material changes.
- Make small design changes to 3D models using SolidWorks.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited technical school or university pursuing an associate or bachelor degree in Electrical, Electronic, or an equivalent engineering program.
- Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, professional journals, and governmental regulations.
- Skill in writing business correspondence and Engineering Change Notices.
- Ability to present information and answer questions from peers, designers, and engineers.
- Strong grasp of mathematical concepts, including probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply ratios, percentages, fractions, and proportions to practical work.

- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 1st shift.
