About the role#
The Equipment Engineering Intern role supports semiconductor manufacturing processes within a wafer fab. You will work on day-to-day operational issues while contributing to long-term improvement projects. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Perform, direct, and coordinate the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of wet etch and solvent strip tools.
- Maintain electrical systems, electronic controls, mechanical systems, pneumatics, and chemical delivery components.
- Analyze equipment and subsystem availability metrics to develop improvement plans.
- Write and edit maintenance and repair specifications.
- Design, prototype, and deploy equipment upgrades.
- Utilize FMEA, design for manufacturing, material selection, and root cause failure analysis.
- Develop training plans for technicians regarding tool maintenance and career development.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, or Physics.
- Strong mechanical or electrical aptitude and a history of practical problem solving.
- Proficiency in computer and math skills, including statistics.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all technical levels.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with robotics, motors, PCB troubleshooting, vacuum systems, pneumatic systems, or PLC programming is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
- A self-starter mindset with a strong work ethic.
