The Technical Intern will assist the technical staff in testing the physical properties of flexible packaging for both new development and production. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position based in Rochester, New York.
What you'll do#
- Work in the corporate lab to gather data on bond strength, seal strength, tensile strength, moisture/oxygen barrier, sustainability, and other material testing.
- Conduct project work and analyze the collected data.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Environmental Engineering.
- Experience with lab equipment such as tensile testers and heat sealers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to accurately compile data into formal reports.
- Statistical experience is considered a plus.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, professional journals, and business periodicals.
- Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
