About the role#
The Michael McConnell Peace with Justice Fellow will support local programs and youth participation in Chicago. This fellowship focuses on city-wide campaigns to divest from policing and incarceration while investing in community-based resources. This is an entry-level position that includes training to support your professional development.
What you'll do#
- Support ongoing program work and provide administrative assistance for local and national projects.
- Develop anti-militaristic youth curriculum for high school students.
- Attend weekly coalition meetings and bi-weekly program meetings, serving as a timekeeper and notetaker.
- Manage and publish the Chicago Peacebuilding Newsletter.
- Execute strategy and content for Chicago Peacebuilding social media channels.
- Assist with fundraising activities, including t-shirt sales and shipments.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one year of experience in community organizing, social justice campaigns, or youth leadership programs.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with diverse staff members.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends and to travel as needed.
- Respect for Quaker values and testimonies, including a commitment to non-violence and the intrinsic worth of every individual.

- Modality: On-site (in office 2 to 3 days per week).
