About the role#
As an OCS CAD Designer Intern, you will join our team in Toronto for the Fall 2026 term. This is a full-time, paid internship where you will support the Overhead Catenary System (OCS) design team. You will work on railway electrification projects and contribute to the delivery of design submissions.
What you'll do#
- Support the design team in meeting on-time submission goals.
- Develop concept, basic, and detailed design documentation.
- Create and maintain a 3D model library for OCS designs.
- Perform 3D modelling activities.
- Assist the structural design team with mechanical calculations.
- Provide OCS-related support to System Engineering and BIM teams.
- Coordinate with stakeholders across different departments and locations.
- Ensure all work follows Engineering Management, Design Quality, and Interface Management plans.
- Verify compliance with local standards and normative references.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree program for Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
- Familiarity with AutoDesk software and other modelling tools.
- Knowledge of Canadian standards and common engineering practices.
- A foundational understanding of railway electrification subsystems.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to adapt to new challenges.
- Fluency in English.
- A desire to pursue a Professional Engineer designation is preferred.

- Compensation: $23 to $27 CAD per hour.
