About the role#
The Alloy Discovery Services team is looking for a Protein Science Co-op to join our group in Waltham. This is a full-time position where you will support our mission to accelerate the discovery of antibody-based therapeutics. You will help our scientific team produce in-house and partner recombinant proteins using current expression and purification technologies.
What you'll do#
- Learn the Protein Sciences and Antibody Discovery workflow.
- Gain hands-on lab experience with mammalian cell culture, recombinant protein design, engineering, expression, purification, and characterization.
- Operate and maintain lab instruments including HPLC, FPLC, and automation platforms like TECAN and Opentrons.
- Assist with daily protein production and characterization tasks.
- Maintain accurate written records of your work.
- Contribute to a supportive team environment.
What you'll need#
- Interest in protein engineering and production for drug discovery.
- Willingness to learn and grow within a team.
- Previous lab experience, such as a prior internship or co-op, is preferred.
- An independent sense of urgency, persistence, and integrity.
- Pursuing a degree in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.

- Location: Waltham, Massachusetts.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time (32+ hours per week).
- Compensation: $23 to $32 per hour.
